Regarding Ron Santo. A Seattle native, Santo became a Chicago legend during his Cubs career, when he was one of the best third basemen of the 1960s and later a beloved color analyst on Cubs' radio broadcasts. Santo's Hall of Fame candidacy was a popular cause for many years after his 15-year career ended in 1974, but he was not elected until after his death, in 2012.
