1. Deer Hunting Marker

Inscription. Among the Lenape, deer emerged as the preferred game for hunting, owing to its abundant population and the diverse usability of its parts. Once captured, the deer hide could be skillfully tanned and softened, using a stand such a as the one built here, yielding buckskin ideal for crafting clothing. The meat served as a valuable food source, while even the antlers found utility as farming tools, capable of being fashioned into hoes for planting seeds.
