1. Whig Captains' Grave Marker

Inscription. Killed in the Battle of Ramsour's Mill on June 20, 1780 were seven North Carolina Militia officers: Captains Falls, Sloan, Knox, Smith, Bowman, Armstrong and Dobson. Some were returned to their homes for burial and others, including Captain Dobson, were interred here. Buried here later were his daughter, Anne, and her husband, Wallace Alexander, who survived the battle.

The tomb was rebuilt and the brick wall erected in 1954 and this plaque placed June 20, 1995 by the members of the Jacob Forney Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
