Other owners: By 1919 Walter Van Gilder (1870-1943) was listed as owner. He was a prominent businessman and owned Knoxville Glass Company in Knoxville which made mirrors, stained glass, and porch lights. His wife Ellen studied art at the University of Chicago and was president of the Knoxville Art League. The cabin stayed in the family through their daughter, Evelyn, who married Robert Creekmore. Their daughter, Eleanor, married Wade Dickinson had the lease on the cabin until 1992. She was a strong proponent of nominating the Elkmont Historic District to the National Register of Historic Places.
