1. Cabin #2: Murphy / Smith Cabin Marker
Inscription. Original owner: According to a newspaper article in 1911, Joshua L. "Bud" Deaver (b 1870) of Knoxville was the first owner of the cabin. He originally had an apartment in the Appalachian Clubhouse. he owned Deaver Dry Goods on Commerce Street. His son would later own cabin #29.

Other owners: Before 1919 Joseph Patrick Murphy (1879-1957) was the next owner. He married Ivah Pearl Cochran (1888-1967). Her father owned #40 on Society Hill. Murphy was superintendent of the Little River Lumber and Railroad Co. He also owned lot #11. The Murphy's later bought the Schuerman Cabin (the Wigwam) on Millionaires Row in the 1930s. In 1920, cabin #2 was sold to Ernest Russel Keller (1874-1946). He was a businessman and on city council from 1923-1927. Next owner was Guy Smith (1898-1968) was editor of the Knoxville Journal. His heirs held the lease until 1992.
