Inscription.

In the 17th century, three religious establishments were established here side by side. At numbers 94-98 was the convent of the Dominican Sisters of the Cross, created in 1641. On its site, Labussière and Longerey built the Palais de la Femme in 1911. The Benedictine sisters of the Madeleine de Traisnel established their monastery at number 100 in 1654. Queen Anne of Austria laid the first stone of the chapel. The convent of Bon-Secours, founded in 1648 by Claude de Bouchavanne, was located at 99-101 rue de Charonne, in buildings rebuilt in 1739 by Nicolas d'Orbay. In 1799 and 1801, the industrialists Richard and Lenoir set up cotton mills in these two buildings, now listed as historic monuments.
