1. 3-Step Mounting Block Marker
Inscription. Off to the right is a large mounting block, an artifact from the 19th & early 20th centuries when the Grand Army House stood on this site. The block made it easier for hotel guests and other travelers to climb aboard or step down from horse-drawn carriages or large Stanley Steamer Mountain Wagon auto stagecoaches or to mount horses.
