1. The Nuclear Power Connection... Marker

Inscription. Much of Edison Woods would have been under concrete if original plans for a nuclear power plant had been completed. Land was purchased in the early 1970s by Ohio Edison, but the power plant was never built. Ironically, the threat of destruction made this forest preserve possible by consolidating many smaller parcels.
