1. Bleecker's Ferry Marker
Mary Meyers Bleecker, daughter of Captain John Walden Meyers, founder of Meyers Creek (Belleville) was the second wife of John Bleecker, one of Trent Port's earliest settlers. Upon John Bleecker's death in 1807, the enterprising Mary operated a ferry service from this location crossing the Trent River. Bleecker's Ferry was a vital link between the east and west banks for over a quarter century as it was not until 1834 that a wooden covered bridge was completed. This sketch drawn by Thomas Burrowes is considered a most likely representation of the ferry.
