The Daughters of the American Revolution is a women's service organization whose members are directly descended from those who served in the U.S. efforts towards independence in the Revolutionary War period. Their work includes the preservation of historic sites and the installation of monuments and historical markers. This plaque honors one of their own members, who was active and influential in the Pittsburgh region.
