1. Chester D. Hubbard Marker
Inscription. Born in Connecticut. November 25, 1814, he was a noted businessman in antebellum Wheeling. A member of the 1852-53 VA legislature, he also was a delegate to the 1861 Richmond Convention, where he voted against secession. Hubbard served in the 1861 Wheeling conventions, the WV State Senate. 1863-64, and the US House of Representatives, 1865-69. Died in Wheeling, August 23, 1891.

It was on National Road (U.S. 40) 0.1 miles north of Willow Avenue, on the right when traveling west. Located at the Madonna of the Trail monument. Touch for map.
