Called the "Betsy Ross of Missouri," this individual designed the Missouri State Flag, following extensive research, vision and perseverance. In 1904, Oliver joined the Daughters of the American Revolutions (DAR). This organization noted that Missouri had adopted a state seal in 1822, but did not have an official flag.
