Before you farm, you need to clear the land. Can you imagine clearing this land by hand? These pigs are helping us! Pigs clear foliage in pasture areas by digging to find plants and insects to eat. Farmers get clear space to grow and rotate crops with fertilizer already added to the soil. Pigs also provided farmers in the past and modern farmers with pork and pig fat (lard) used for cooking, baking, and even soapmaking.

What Do They Eat?
These pigs eat feed corn. They also forage for food including plants, roots, and insects. Apples and acorns are a favorite
