1. Growing Profits Marker
Between 1857 and 1889, the invention of fast and powerful machines shifted farmers away from subsistence farming. Instead, they began growing "cash crops" like wheat to sell for a profit. Many farmers also raised cows, pigs and chickens to make extra money.
Farmers wanted to pass successful farms to their children. One way to do that was to update the farm buildings. This farm is mix of older log buildings and newer construction.
