Mathilde Otto war var 1922 bis 1926 die erste und einzige Frau, die in der Weimarer Republik aus den Reihen des Freiburger Stadtparlaments in den Stadtrat gewählt wurde. Ihr Arbeitsgebiet im Rathaus war die Sozialpolitik.

Between 1922 and 1926, Mathilde Otto was the first and only woman to be elected to the city council from the ranks of the Freiburg city parliament in the Weimar Republic. Her area of work in the town hall was social policy.
