Inscription. Fanny Taggart arrived at Winter Quarters after her husband, George, had already left with the Mormon Battalion. With no means of her own and a stepdaughter, Eliza Ann, to care for, she "felt like bursting into tears." At the advice of Brigham Young, she asked a friend for help and lived in various homes awaiting George's return.
