Marine Park in Brooklyn in Kings County, New York — The American Northeast (Mid-Atlantic)
The Lott Farm
Like most Flatlands residents, the Lotts were farmers. All members of the household regardless of gender or age likely participated in farm tasks, which ranged from cultivating farmland to collecting eggs from the chickens.
The Lott Farm produced various grains such as wheat, buckwheat, rye, oats, corn, flax, and barley. They also grew fruits and vegetables including potatoes, string beans, and cabbages.
Today we have planted items that the Lott farm once grew, as well as vegetables that are more popular today.
Can you identify the vegetables we've planted?
