Mercer in Mercer County, Pennsylvania — The American Northeast (Mid-Atlantic)
Court House Fountain
from 1891 to 1907, has been donated to the historical
society by Mr. & Mrs. J. Paul Trapasso and
Mr. & Mrs. Gordon W. Harrison, in memory of
John Hassel (1863-1933) and Clara Young Hassel (1868-1939),
grandparents of Paul Trapasso and Helen Harrison.
During John Hassel's term as Mercer County Commissioner
(1908-1916) the fountain graced his Mercer home and
later the family homestead in Jefferson Township.
Dedicated June 1995
Erected 1995 by Mercer County Historical Society.
