On the bank of the Ohio River above the mouth of Little Muskingum Creek, George Washington and his party camped on the night of Oct. 26, 1770, while inspecting lands in "the Ohio Country"

This marker has been erected by the Ohio Daughters of the American Revolution in commemoration of the Bi-centennial of the birth of George Washington 1732-1932
