1. Coxville Church and Cemetery Winfield Scott (Scotty) Moore Marker

Inscription. With 1874 land grants, Needham Moore, D.H. James, and James Alexander Cox, all descendants of Moses Cox, for whom Coxville was named, the original — trustees established the Cox's Chapel Church of Christ and Cemetery. All three are interred here along with Winfield Scott (Scotty) Moore, III. the great-grandson of Needham Moore. Scotty Moore is credited with discovering Elvis Presley and playing guitar on his first hit, "That's All Right", recorded at Sun Records in Memphis, Tennessee, on July 5, 1954. His lead guitar backup to Elvis over the years led to his induction in both the Musicians and Rock and Roll Halls of Fame.
