Inscription.
Built in 1856 for James Robb by the architectural firm of Gallier, Turpin, & Co.

In 1901, the Administrators of the Tulane Educational Fund purchased this house for the use of the H. Sophie Newcomb Memorial College, the college for women within Tulane University, and referred to it as the College "Annex." In 1909, the School of Household Art was established and occupied the building until 1918, when the College moved to its home on Broadway Avenue.
