Walts Dream
16' Chris-Craft
1947 16' Chris-Craft Special Runabout (Rocket) powered by a 6 cylinder 93HP Chrysler Ace engine.
Chris-Craft was founded by Christopher Columbus Smith and became famous for its assembly line production of mahogany hulled powerboats of the 1920's through the 1950's. In 1963, the company offered 159 different models, and was the sales leader in many categories of small civilian powerboats. Walt's Dream was produced in the late 40's when Chris-Craft built many utility boats of different sizes. This hull of this boat was the smallest and fastest, thereby earning the nickname the Rocket and was named in memory of one of the craftsmen's sons.
