Inscription.
1958 14' Larsen "Falls Flyer" Fiberglass Runabout powered by a 50 HP Mercury.

In the 1940's, Paul Larson, the owner of Larson Boat Works, patented an idea for a boat that would capture the American heart: The Falls Flyer. Inspired by Charles Lindbergh's remarkable transit of the Atlantic Ocean. Larson invented The Falls Flyer with a sleek airplane-like body and cockpit to honor Lindbergh. The word 'Flyer' is in reference to Lindbergh's 3,600-mile solo flight and 'Falls' refers to Little Falls, Minnesota - the hometown of both Larson and Lindbergh. The abbreviated transom, surrounded by a rear deck that slopes to the waterline, is still the industry standard for high-performance recreational outboards. The boat was originally rendered in wood, and later in aluminum and fiberglass.
