The population of Curacao comprises more than 40 different nationalities. The approximately 162.000 inhabitants are 80% of Dutch Caribbean origin, made up of multi-colored tapestry of races and cultures, hailing from Africa, Europe, South America, the Caribbean, Asia and Middle East. Most of them are Dutch citizens. The other nationalities come from all the nations on the American continent, many from Europe, the middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia. "Homo Carbines" may well be the prototype of the developing global population.
