Historical Timeline
Christopher W. Moore - Moved to Boise in 1862, the same year of the city’s founding. C.W. Moore was a founder of the First National Bank of Idaho and a pioneer of Boise business. Upon his death in 1916, Moore had been one of the Society’s largest contributors donating funds as well as in-kind donations including personally planting and tending to ornamental trees in the home’s yard. C.W. Moore’s daughter, Laura Moore Cunningham, also became an avid supporter of the Children’s Home, serving on the board for over 30 years.
Columbus C. Anderson - Came to Boise in 1896 and was the owner of nine Golden Rule department stores in Idaho. C.C. Anderson served on the Children’s Home board for 50 years and is remembered for his love of children and generosity. Anderson would frequently hand out dimes to children in his department stores. Every year he gave hundreds of dollars worth of brand new clothes to children at the Home, and would occasionally ride his horse to the Home and pass out candy to the kids.
Victoria Louise Eoff - Much like Laura Moore Cunningham, Mrs. Eoff was an admired leader in Boise society. She is remembered as sharing her love and wealth with those living in the Children’s Home. She served on the Children’s Home Society Board for 25 years.
