Shea's Gas Station. A Route 66 Icon. Bill Shea and his Gas Station Museum became a Route 66 icon. In 1955, Bill opened this Marathon service station on Route 66, just down the road from a Texaco station he had operated for 9 years. When the station closed in 1982, he began filling it with quirky Route 66 artifacts. He passed away in 2013 at the age of 91. Today, a small part of his collection is displayed at the Route 66 Motorheads Bar, Grill, and Museum.
