1. Park Pavilion Marker
Inscription. Ornamented with images of turtles, frogs and fish, this building originally opened in 1923 as Chicago's first aquarium.

In 1937, after the opening of the John G. Shedd Aquarium, the facility was converted into the zoo's Reptile House and in 1998 was transformed once again.

Today Park Pavilion provides visitors a year-round restaurant, seasonal dining terrace, and an education program area at the lower level.
