preservation authorities became increasingly committed to making the tomb accessible to visitors again. As early as 1845, the column was enclosed by a wall, and a staircase provided direct access to the reliefs at the rear.

During the restoration work in 1908, the surrounding area was given a terraced park. The redesign of the rear area by the local community of Igel in 2014-2015 significantly enhanced the column's monumental impact.
With funding from the LAG Moselfranken (Moselfranken Regional Association) through LEADER funds, additional plots were acquired and incorporated into an overall design concept.

As the "Column Garden in the Steinwingert," the terraces once again offer unobstructed views of the well-preserved reliefs.
In the future, new educational offerings will provide information about the monument and its setting in the expansive river landscape, inviting visitors to linger.
