The Legacy of the
Altobello Family
To Okeechobee County

Frank Altobello was born in New York City and grew up in the Bronx. At the age of 19 he enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was deployed to the South Pacific where he received critical injuries. After his recuperation he and his wife Hutchie moved to Okeechobee in 1949. Frank established the Western Auto Business and Hutchie, an RN, worked at the Lottie Raulerson hospital.

After 17 years with Western Auto, Frank sold the business and got involved in real estate sales and eventually in commercial real estate investment.

He was successful in his business career and established a foundation to provide funding to organizations which provide services to the people of Okeechobee county.

Hutchie is quoted as saying "Frank, I believe the best thing that ever happened to you is when you moved to Okeechobee".
