More about this memorial. The 1975 pavilion commemorated in this plaque was rebuilt in 2004. The current iteration includes a number of veterans memorials as well as the names of Des Plaines's war dead.

2. Memorial Pavilion Marker
This marker is the upper of the two rectangular plaques on the right side of this photo. The current pavilion includes the names of Des Plaines's war dead etched into tablets.

3. Lake Park Memorial Pavilion
The marker on this listing is the bottom of the two rectangular plaques in the back of the pavilion. This 2004 pavilion replaced the original built in 1975.

This rendering of the original pavilion is found on a historical marker about 250 yards north of here. It appears that the tablets included in the 2004 pavilion, which still stands today, were originally created for this first pavilion.
