The Monument-Lefebvre holds a special place in the hearts and minds of the Acadian people.
Overlooking the scenic Memramcook Valley, the Monument-Lefebvre was built in 1896-97. This memorial is an enduring expression of gratitude to Father Camille Lefebvre, who selflessly devoted over three decades of his life to the advancement of the Acadian people.
Today, the building houses an interpretation centre and a treasured concert hall. As a symbol of the Acadian Renaissance, the Monument-Lefebvre remains an important place of gathering for all of Acadie and is the site of many cultural activities. Enjoy your visit!

Constructed of rough-faced stone in an eclectic, late 19th-century manner, it has a monumental front façade accessed by a flight of stone steps. The building was constructed as a memorial to Father Camille Lefebvre, who founded the Saint Joseph’s College in Memramcook in 1864. At the time, Monument Lefebvre was the only institution of higher learning available to the Acadians. The building has become a symbol of Father Lefebvre's contribution to the rebirth of Acadian culture.
