1. Irish Defence Forces Headquarters Flag Pole Remnant Marker

Inscription.
This exhibit is a section of the flag pole, that once stood in the Irish Defence Forces Headquarters, Infirmary Road, Parkgate. The building formerly the Royal Infirmary, was designed by James Gandon in 1786[.] Later it became the headquarters to the British Armies Irish Command. In this building on the 29th of April 1916 on behalf of the Provisional Government Commandant General P.H. Pearse signed an Order of Surrender, which ended the 1916 Easter Rising[.]
