Cartographe: il réalisa en 1525 la première carte imprimée de France et en 1536 une mappemonde en forme de cœur
Graveur: il illustra lui-même ses ouvrages
Musicien: on lui doit une méthode pour enseigner le luth
Philologue: il traduisit et publia l'encyclopédie de G. Reisch
