1. First White Woman To Settle In Fairfield Twp. Marker
Inscription. In 1816, came from Newark, Ohio with her nine children. John, Mariha, Betsey, James, William, Anna, Samuel, Nancy and David. She built a cabin on the east side of Ridge Road, 3 miles north of Route 162 in Section 3, Lot 33.

Later married Jacob Rush, moved out west and lived to be nearly 100.

The widow's daughter, Martha, Married and remained in this area. Her tombstone may be viewed here.
