Inscription.
In appreciation of James Zehringer, Director of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, for his wise stewardship of Ohio's resources as a conservationist, farmer, and public servant.

During Zehringer's tenure at ODNR, an unprecedented investment in infrastructure and focus on public service brought about dramatic improvements in recreational facilities and offerings, dam safety and water quality, modernization of regulations for safe oil and gas exploration, and a renaissance of Ohio's state parks.

Director Zehringer successfully worked to increase cooperation and support among ODNR divisions and sister state agencies, resulting in enhanced stewardship of Ohio's natural resources.
