Inscription. James Clark (1825-1895) and Margaret (Bragg) Clark (1826-1908) settled in the Sabathany Community in 1865 and adopted the primitive burial ground present on their property to later donate to the community. J.T. "Bud" Clark (1864-1940) inherited the property from his parents in 1883 and locals began to call it Bud Clark Cemetery. The oldest marked grave is that of John Steele who died in 1870, although ten unidentified graves marked with native stone exist. In 1980, Clark, Steele, and Whitten family descendants officially formed the Bud Clark Cemetery Association. This historic burial ground is the only physical reminder of the once-blossoming Sabathany Community.
