"Death at Crane's Court"
They hung over the bridge by the salmon weir, where, she told him, in summer thousands of salmon lie lazily in the shallow water, which tickles their backs so that they sway from side to side with pleasure. Then they went by back streets through the town, past limestone warehouses with mysterious, flat-arched doorways, out on to the fish market and through the Spanish Arch to the docks. There were black tarred fishing boats there, with soft-voiced Connemara men shouting from one to the other in Irish."
