1. An Enduring Icon Marker
Inscription. Delicate Arch has become a powerful and lasting symbol. It is an emblem of Arches National Park and the city of Moab. You'll also find it serving as an icon for the State of Utah, the American West, and, sometimes, the entire National Park Service. The arch is unique, rugged, and somehow manages to accomplish what seems impossible. Around 1906, a photographer took the first known picture of Delicate Arch. Today, you can see the same arch on postcards, logos, souvenirs, the Utah license plate, and much more. How many times will you see "The Arch" on this trip? What does it represent to you?
