Inscription. The main thoroughfare (of Almagro) was once called High St. When Almagro was annexed into the city the name was changed to Betts St because the city already had a High St. Almagro stopped on the other side of Pearl St, crossed over to Coleman Ave/Chatelaine Ave, by late 1930's started to be called Coleman Town. Industrial Ave used to be Diamond St
