The Life and Legacy of Joseph Cannon

The Formative Years:

The eldest son of Hershel D. & Iva Mae (Chitty) Cannon.
The eldest brother in a family of 7 boys & 3 girls.
Served with the (CCC) Civilian Conservation Corp.

Service to his Country During WWII:
Volunteered for the U.S. Army at the age of 19.
Assigned to Company F, 157th Infantry, 45th Division.
Served in North Africa, Italy, France and into Germany.
Served from April 6, 1943 through December 11, 1945.
Honorably discharged, being awarded the Bronze Star.

Home and Family:
Employed at Sangamo Electric and Diagraph Bradley.
Married Clara (Echols) Cannon and had four sons.
He always showed a great love for God, family & country.
