1. Size of the Guilford Green Marker
As a parallelogram, the original Green included the land on which the buildings on Park Street and a section of Boston Street now stand. The town reduced the size of the Green in the 17th century by shearing off portions on the south and east sides to provide long, narrow house lots for blacksmiths. Today, the Green covers approximately 7 3/4 acres.
