Harris II-meter antennas are used worldwide for a variety of applications, including telephone networks, television uplinks, and private networks for corporations and newspapers.
This antenna was originally installed in LaGrange, Georgia, in December 1980 by Dow Jones. It was used from 1981 until 2005 to transmit the Wall Street Journal for printing and distribution in the Southeast. When the dish was decommissioned it was brought to Tellus.
The dish can also be used as a radio telescope. It can detect radio waves from strong sources such as the center of our Milky Way Galaxy.
