Ripley First Presbyterian Church
In 1822, Rev. John Rankin began serving as minister of the Presbyterian Church in Ripley. After 24 years, conflicts and division within the church caused Rankin to resign his position and leave, with 74 parishioners, to form the new Free Presbyterian Church in August, 1846.

One of the first homes the Rankins lived in was this row house on Front Street.
John P. Parker Museum
The Parker House is a National Historic Landmark, located at 300 N. Front Street. His foundry, now gone, was located on the adjacent property. He was also known for a series of inventions he patented.
Maplewood Cemetery
Both Reverend John and Jean Rankin are buried in Ripley's Maplewood Cemetery, located on U.S. Rt. 52 on the east side of Ripley. This picture was taken in May of 1892 at the dedication of a monument honoring them both.
