Inscription. This dogtrot, built with reclaimed period logs, was donated by the Wade family and moved here in 2012. Sometimes called a breezeway house, possum trot, or dog run, this style developed as a response to the hot and humid climate of the Southeastern United States, providing shade and ventilation. The craftsmen demonstration area can be found inside this cabin on particular days.
