Bernadine Friend
A friend to all animals
1927-2013

With thanks from all the animals she loved and saved throughout her life. In 1985, she founded the Garrett County Humane Society with Sherri, her daughter, Nancy Helbig and Joanna Sisler. As its Executive Director, Bernadine continued her tireless work on behalf of homeless and abused animals in Garrett County. She will forever serve as an inspiration to all those dedicated to improving the lives of animals everywhere.
