Was a native of Ireland.
Came to America about the close of the Revolutionary War.
Married Miss Martha Allen Gillespie in Washington Count I'a in the year 1783, removed to Cincinnati among the early settlers. Was a citizen of the village as it then was during the Campaigns of Gen. Harmar, St. Clair and Wayne, was one of the party that marched to the relief of Coleraine Jalion from Fort Washington.
He was a citizen of Butler County at its organization. Living one of the Grand jurors at the first Court of common pleas held in Hamilton, and was the County's first representative in the General Assembly of the State under the State Constitution.
