1. Lacebark Pine Marker
Inscription. This is the Garden's oldest lacebark pine, which was planted as a small tree in 1909. Today its mottled gray bark shows the characteristic sunbleached appearance of century-old trees found the wild in its native China. Lacebark pine is highly prized for its beauty and has been planted in Chinese temple courtyards and cemeteries for hundreds of years.
