Marjorie G. Rosen Seasonal Walk
The Seasonal Walk celebrates the ephemeral beauty of plants, which is a central tenet of the work of Dutch garden designer Pier Oudolf. Known for his new wave planting style, Oudolf combines perennials, grasses, and bulbs in compositions that highlight the shape, structure, and color of plants in every stage of growth throughout the year.
In addition to several plants that have not been grown previously at The New York Botanical Garden, the Seasonal Walk incorporates a greater number of perennials and flowering specimens that many of Oudolf's other designs. The Seasonal Walk places special emphasis on an ever-changing floral display from April to November.
Oudolf is passionate about bringing nature to urban spaces through designs that combine a wide range of beautiful and adaptable plants in gardens he has created around the world. In the United States, his designs grace Millennium Park's Lurie Garden in Chicago and, in addition to NYBG, The High Line and Battery Park in New York City.
