Inscription.
The Judy and Micahel Steinhardt Maple Collection, opened in 2016, enhances and expands the historic collection established on this five-acre site in the 1930s. Some of the rarest and most distinguished specimens here were planted more than 80 years ago and have grown into handsome trees in their prime.

The Maple Collection has been improved with the addition of nearly 100 of the hardiest and most beautiful maples available. a wide variety of Japanese maple cultivars with multi-colored or lacy leaves creates visual interest from early spring until late fall. Stripe-bark maples' snakeskin patterns brighten in the cold of winter. American red and sugar maples will grow tall and provide shade to visitors for generations. Landscape architect Shavaun Towers has created a new series of pathways and gathering places for visitors to enjoy maples in all seasons.
