Inscription.  German:
Dem hohen gotischen Torturm wurde 1574 ein wehrhafter Vorbau nach Art einer Barbakane vorgelagert, die die gleiche Rustikaverblendung wie das Ziegel- und Wingershofer Tor zeigt.

English:
In 1574, a well-fortified projecting front section in the form of a barbican was added in front of the tall Gothic gate tower. It features the same rusticated stonework as the Ziegel Gate and Wingershof Gate.
